Only applications that are handed in complete and on time are accepted. Missing paperwork will not be chased.

The Following Application Documents Are Required
  • Completed application forms
  • Statement of purpose for choice of course (one or two sides)
  • Art portfolio with work samples (well sealed, no larger than DIN A1)
  • Certified copies of general or subject-specific higher education qualifications
  • CV
  • Postage stamp (currently 1,45 Euro)
  • Paid dispatch note with current address (even if collecting in person)
  • Proof of German competence (for foreign students)
  • Letter of consent from parents for under-age students

The documents should be handed in without folders, covers, or similar, loose in an envelope, or if appropriate, with the attached portfolio. They will be required at the university for the whole duration of the application process.


Application Acceptance Period

Application by post:

  • for the praxis-based courses from April 1 to April 30 (cut-off date)
  • for the theory course from April 15 to May 31 (cut-off date) The deadline includes the date of receipt at the university.

Submission of Application in Person:
The complete documents can be handed in in person until noon on April 30 (for the praxis-based courses) and on May 31st (for the theory course) at the student office (room 376, 3rd floor). Please note the information regarding the submission deadline on the first page of the application form. It is advisable not to hand in the application documents on the final day, as long waiting times can be expected due to the review for missing documents.


Multiple Applications

For multiple applications, complete application documents for each course requiring application (including portfolio) is necessary.
