Netiquette for the social media channels of the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design ("HfG")

The official HfG accounts on the social networks Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram and YouTube provide additional information.

Feedback and exchange are important to us. We welcome comments, questions and suggestions. At the same time, we value friendly interaction. We want to keep discussions constructive and factual, and the tone should be respectful. In principle, everyone has the right to their own opinion, as long as it does not violate applicable law or is otherwise inappropriate.

The following are not welcome:
-Insults, threats, verbal abuse or comments damaging to reputation or business.
-Incitements to violence against persons, institutions or companies. We therefore remove threats of any kind from our channel.
-Discrimination and defamation of other people and social groups based on their religion, origin, nationality, disability, income, sexual orientation, age or gender. Racist, extremist and sexist comments will not be tolerated.

-Refrain from insinuations and suspicions that cannot be verified, as well as comments that are intended to create a mood against certain people or groups of people.
-Comments that do not deal with the topic of the respective post. The misuse of the comment function as (personal) advertising space and the offering of commercial or private goods and services is not permitted.
-Posts containing personal data (e.g. student number, address, telephone number) will be deleted.
-As a university, we are committed to neutrality. For this reason, calls for campaigns, demonstrations and rallies of a party-political or religious nature are not permitted.
-Copyrighted works or trademarks of the HfG may not be used without the prior written consent of the university.

Comments and postings that violate our netiquette will be deleted by us. In addition, we reserve the right to permanently exclude users from the comment function in the event of serious or repeated violations of our netiquette. Illegal content will also be reported to the respective platform and, if necessary, reported to the police.

If you have specific questions for us, please write to us using the private message function or send us an e-mail to:

It is not possible for us to check all postings from our users immediately. The site administrators can therefore not be held responsible or liable for the content of the comments. Rather, each user is responsible for their own contributions. We would also like to point out that the comments, opinions and links posted by users on the social media pages operated in the name of the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design.
