Uncle Boonmee has returned to his home in northeastern Thailand to die in peace. As he sits on the veranda in the evening with his sister-in-law and nephew, they are joined by his wife, who died 19 years ago, and the ghost of his son Boonsong. Together with them, Uncle Boonmee makes his way to his origin, a cave.
