HfG Lichtbrücke, free entry

Alistair Hudson (ZKM) comes to the HfG and talks about "The Totality for Kids" This lecture takes as its staring point the Manchester music scene of the 1980s, which was in fact an art project inspired by the Situationist International, and one that used popular culture as a delivery vehicle to educate the working classes in visual literacy, or at least give them 'the right to be pretentious'. From here Alistair Hudson expands a thesis of subaltern art education, which travels from the institutes of the 19th Century industrial revolution to the postartistic practice of the present.
