Currently, the Sekantekollektiv is showing collaborative art and design alongside documenta15 in Kassel and has invited Hfg Karlsruhes Onetreeworkshop to participate. The Sekante Festival is on view at the Faerberei Cultural Center through September 24.

From February 28 to March 3, 2022, designer Lex Pott (Rotterdam) and designer and HfG professor Chris Kabel led a workshop with 16 HfG students to carve utilitarian objects out of the fresh wood of a whole Douglas fir.
The students responded intuitively and directly to everything the tree had to offer them, from needles and bark to wooden rings and parts of the tree trunk.

The exhibition shows a selection of the resulting works.

The Douglas fir was donated by the forestry office of the city of Karlsruhe. The tree had to be cut down to allow neighboring trees to grow better.
