In the winter semester of 2021, Annette Kelm, Visiting Professor of Artistic Photography, will offer the seminar 'PHOTOGRAPHING PHOTOGRAPHING' at the HfG, which will make the specific process of photographing itself a topic and reflect on it in the artistic production process.

In her work, Annnette Kelm is interested in the function of objects and the nature of their representation, typologies, mass production, design, and technology. Her photographs often conflate several genres into single images, or develop single motifs across serial images to combine a variety of artistic, historical, and cross-cultural references. Annette Kelm’s work will be the subject of forthcoming exhibitions at the Kunsthalle Kiel, Germany in 2022. Past solo exhibitions of Kelm’s work include Annette Kelm: Kunsthalle Vienna, Austria, 2019. Fosun Foundation Shanghai, 2018, Leaves, Kestnergesellschaft, Hannover, Germany, 2017, Detroit City/Detroit Affinities: Annette Kelm, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.

Kelm participated in several group exhibtions for example 2021 at Lenbachhaus Munich, 2020 she was included in the Henie Onstad Triennial for Photography and new Media, 2019 at mumok Vienna, 2016 at Whitney Museum of American Art and 2015 MMK Frankfurt.
