Finally, the time has come again: The HfG Karlsruhe opens its doors again for the Rundgang to present and exhibit the many ideas and projects that have accumulated over the past year and a half. The exhibition is intended to enable students to show in particular all those works that could not be shown in the course of the Corona pandemic. Anything goes!

From December 9, 2021 to January 6, 2022, the atriums of the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe will finally be transformed into a large exhibition space once again. More than four hundred students from the fields of exhibition design and scenography, communication design, art science and media philosophy, media art and product design will give visitors insights into their artistic and theoretical work, products, designs and concepts. The audience will be confronted with the ideas of a new generation of artists, designers, curators, scenographers, philosophers, art historians, film directors and photographers.
Exhibitions will take place in various presentation areas that cross the atriums on the first floor and which students are allowed to appropriate with their work. The projects are organized by subject area; however, many interdisciplinary works will also be shown. The open architecture of the hall building, which gives the university its special atmosphere, is marked with architectural elements. The arrangement of the exhibition walls and platforms creates passages and visual relationships.

The tour will open at 6 p.m. on Dec. 9. From December 10 to 12, the HfG will then offer a wide range of art, music, and literature performances, film screenings, lectures, and guided tours of the exhibition. The final day will be January 6, 2022 (ZKM Open House), when visitors* can participate in various event formats throughout the day.

On our website you will find an overview of the events and have the opportunity to view a selection of our students' works.
