An der Staatlichen Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe ist folgende Professur für die Dauer von zunächst drei Jahren bis zu maximal sechs Jahren (§50 Abs. 2 LHG) im befristeten außertariflichen Angestelltenverhältnis mit Vergütung a. T. i. R. im Ausmaß von zwei Dritteln des vollen Deputats zu besetzen:
Professur für Ausstellungsdesign, Bes.-Gr. W3 (66 %)
Ausstellungsdesign und Szenografie trägt als transdisziplinär ausgerichteter Fachbereich der Staatlichen Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe der wachsenden Bedeutung kuratorischer und dramaturgischer Praxis in der zeitgenössischen Kunst Rechnung. Neben der Professur für Szenografie und der Professur für kuratorische Studien/dramaturgische Praxis komplettiert die ausgeschriebene Stelle den künstlerisch-praktischen Fachbereich Ausstellungsdesign und Szenografie.
Im Zentrum des projektorientierten Studiengangs steht die Konzeption und der Entwurf von Raum und Display im Sinne der Anforderungen von bildenden wie performativen Künsten und kuratorischen Entscheidungen.
Aufgaben sind die Grundlagenvermittlung fachspezifischer Theorie und Praxis, Lehre und Betreuung von Studierenden in den Diplomstudiengängen Ausstellungsdesign und Szenografie. Die Zusammenarbeit mit nationalen und internationalen Fachvertreten/-innen im Rahmen interdisziplinärer Projekte wird erwartet.
Die dienstlichen Aufgaben sind in § 46 LHG geregelt. Die Bereitschaft zur Mitarbeit in der Selbstverwaltung wird vorausgesetzt.
Einstellungsvoraussetzungen:
• Abschluss eines Hochschulstudiums, vorzugsweise in Ausstellungsdesign oder Architektur.
• Die Bewerber und Bewerberinnen sollten sich durch hervorragende Leistungen im Bereich Ausstellungskonzeption, -architektur und kuratorische Praxis ausweisen und imstande sein, das Fach in Theorie und Praxis zu vertreten.
• Ferner wird erwartet, dass der Bewerber/die Bewerberin sich in der künstlerischen und technischen Forschung und Entwicklung ihres Fachs engagieren.
Abweichend davon ist eine Bewerbung möglich, wenn hervorragende fachbezogene Leistungen in der künstlerischen Praxis und pädagogischen Eignung nachgewiesen werden.

Professorship in Exhibition Design, salary class W3 (66 %)
As an interdisciplinary department at the University of Arts and Design in Karlsruhe, Exhibition Design and Scenography contribute to the growing importance of curatorial and dramaturgical practice in contemporary art. The professorship for Exhibition Design will complement the current professorships of Scenography as well as Curatorial Studies and Dramaturgical Practice.
A central point within this project-centered study is the conception and design of space and display in terms of both visual and performing arts as well as curatorial decisions.
Responsibilities will include the mediation of subject-specific theory and practice, teaching and mentoring students in diploma programs of Exhibition Design and Scenography. Collaborations with national and international exponents in the course of interdisciplinary projects will be expected.
Official responsibilities are regulated in §46 of the German state law of education, LHG. Contribution to self-administrative duties is required.
Employment requirements:
• Required will be a university degree, preferably in Exhibition Design or Architecture.
• Applicants should have excellent artistic and vocational qualifications in Exhibition Design and Architecture as well as Curatorial Practice and be able to represent the discipline in practice and theory.
• Furthermore the applicant will be expected to contribute to artistic and technical research and development of the department.
At variance with terms applications are possible with distinguished accomplishments in artistic practice and pedagogical skill.
