Clegg & Guttmann (Michael Clegg and Martin Guttmann b. 1957) have been collaborating since 1980. Their work has been shown extensively in the United States and Europe and is in the collections of the Whitney Museum for American Art, Guggenheim Museum, New York, the Centre Pompidou Paris, the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, Museo Cappo di Monte, Naples - to name a few. Throughout the 80’s their work revolved around the representation of power - a theme that was elaborated in portraits, still life and landscape photography. Since 1990 Clegg & Guttmann have expanded their work into the public domain and began their outdoor projects and Spontaneous Operas – socially imbedded sculpture and performance.
